Assiniboine Forest
Assiniboine Forest is a regional park located in Winnipeg, Manitoba.[1] It is the largest urban natural forest in Canada.[2]

History
In 1920, the area was slated for development and road cuts were made. Due to the stock market crash of 1929 and subsequent economic depression, plans for its development were stopped. In the 1973, Assiniboine Forest was named a municipal nature park in Winnipeg.[3]
