Andy Valmorbida

Andy Valmorbida is the president of Untitled-1 Holdings, Australian-born, New York-raised Andrew Valmorbida oversees the company’s fine art trading, art copyright and digital art platform divisions. In 2019, Untitled-1 finalized a joint venture with Love Watts, an emerging art social media platform, with over 3.4 million followers since 2011.

Career

Valmorbida's stepfather was Phillip Ean Cohen founder and CEO of Morgan Schiff & Co. who gave Andrew his first position in the financial business before it ceased trading.

Valmorbida moved from Wall Street into the art world at the age of 25.[1]

After meeting artist Richard Hambleton in 2009, Valmorbida teamed up with Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld in 2011 at Phillips de Pury & Company to promote Richard Hambleton's art. Giorgio Armani, an avid collector of Hambleton's work put his name to the heavily promoted traveling celebrity attended show, which allegedly saw Hambleton's work renamed[2] and prices vastly inflated.

Valmorbida was executive producer and featured heavily as Hambleton's promoter in the 2017 Shadowman documentary.

In 2015, after ten years in the traditional art world, Valmorbida began purchasing artist's copyright, joining the long established artwork licensing sector. From 2006 – 2013, he had collaborated with Giorgio Armani, Bombardier Aerospace, Jimmy Lovine and P. Diddy, Tens of thousands have attended Valmorbida's artist shows across the world.

As well as discovering and fostering contemporary talent, Valmorbida has used his wealth to build an art dealership, with over 500 paintings.

Although Valmorbida was born and studied business in Australia, he started work at his family's New York investment firm and is now part of the NY art dealing and licensing world, after acquiring the copyright to Richard Hambleton's works following his death.

Valmorbida was born into one of the wealthiest families[3] in Melbourne, Australia and raised in New York City. His father was Paul Valmorbida

Education

Andrew Valmorbida completed a Bachelor in Business and Finance from the Melbourne's Monash University.

Philanthropy

In 2010 Valmorbida helped curate and assisted with the donation of two Richard Hambleton pieces to the amfAR 17th Annual Cinema Against AIDS Gala During the Cannes Film Festival. The pieces sold for $960,000.[4]
