Background
Lauv released his debut album, How I'm Feeling, in 2020 to moderate commercial success and generally favorable reviews. To support the album, Lauv was scheduled to begin a concert tour, in support of the album with acts such as mxmtoon, Maisie Peters, Alexander 23 and others, however the tour was postponed following the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. In June 2020, Lauv released an extended play, Without You, with four tracks, produced by Lauv and DallasK, followed up by collaborations with Ellie Goulding, Ava Max, Conan Gray on various tracks, along with a track featuring Lauv from DallasK, titled "Try Again", released in July 2021. In January 2022, Lauv posted a video to his social media pages to indicate his second album was complete, with the first single, "26", being released on January 28. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Lauv stated: "[I was] rethinking a lot of things in my life, finding balance, and revisiting childhood and my innate light. I felt like I had lost touch with it before, so thank God for therapy and meditation and the fact that I was able to make this album."[2]
