Ali bin Masoud al Sunaidy is an Omani politician who is currently the Chairman of Board of Directors

of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones. Previously served as Minister for several ministerial portfolios.

Ali bin Masoud al Sunaidy (born 1964, in Muscat, Oman) is an Oman politician.[1][2] Currently he is Chairman of Board of Directors

of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones, pursuant to Royal Decree No. 105 of 18 August 2020.[3]

He chaired the boards of a number of governmental and private companies along with his work as minister of a number of ministries in the Government of Oman.

Education Background

Al Sundady received his Bachelor's degree in Industrial Science and Engineering from the University of Miami Florida, United States of America, in 1988, then a Master's degree in Public Administration from University of Bristol, United Kingdom, 2000, and a doctorate in Economics from University of Hull, United Kingdom, 2012

Ministerial portfolios and previous positions

He held many ministerial posts and portfolios. He was Minister of Commerce and Industry in Oman during the period 2012-2020..[4][5] Following his appointment as Minister of commerce and industry he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Planning, Oman during the period 2012-2020..[6] He was also the Chairman of the Omani Olympic Committee in 2004. He was Minister of Sports Affairs from 2004 to 2020. Also, he was Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry between 1996 and 2004.

Head of the Delegation of the Sultanate of Oman participating in the High-level Political Forum of the Economic and Social Commission on Sustainable Development Goals, UK.
