Alexandra Walsh

Alexandra Walsh (born July 31, 2001)[1] is an American competitive swimmer. She won the silver medal in the women's 200 metre individual medley event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

In 2019, she represented the United States at the Pan American Games held in Lima, Peru.[1] In total, she won three gold medals: two individual gold medals and the gold medal in the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay.[1][2][3]

In 2021, she won the 200m individual medley at the US Olympic Swimming Trials, to qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.[4]

At the 2022 US International Team Trials in Greensboro, North Carolina in April, Walsh qualified for the 2022 World Aquatics Championships team in the 4×200 meter freestyle relay, placing sixth in the final of the 200 meter freestyle with a 1:57.82, and the 200 meter individual medley, setting a new US Open record in the final of the event with her winning time of 2:07.84.[5][6][7]

Background

Walsh has a younger sister, Gretchen, who is also a competitive swimmer.[8]
