Alan Gagloyev
Alan Eduardovich Gagloyev (Ossetian: Гаглойты Эдуарды фырт Алан, romanized: Gaglojty Edwardy fyrt Alan; Russian: Алан Эдуардович Гаглоев; born February 6, 1981) is a politician and intelligence officer[1] of the breakaway Republic of South Ossetia. In early 2020, he became the chairman of the Nykhaz party.[2]

He graduated from the South Ossetian State University in 2002 and was hired by the Ministry of Economic Development of South Ossetia as the chief specialist of the department for supporting small and medium-sized businesses. Gagloyev ran for president of South Ossetia in 2017 and 2022. In the 2022 election, he won 36.9% of the vote in the first round, bypassing incumbent Anatoly Bibilov.[3]
