ActionKid

ActionKid (alter ego of Kenneth Chin[2][3]), is a Chinese American YouTuber and IRL livestreamer. Chin explores and travels across New York City and other cities while interacting with his viewers. In 2020, Forbes noted that Chin's documented NYC walkthroughs from 2017 to early 2020 drastically show the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the city and "offer[s] a highly-addictive front-row seat to witness how the virus has transformed the city, along with its residents, workers and visitors."[4]

Chin has had a YouTube channel since September 2010,[5] however the first video didn't publish until January 10, 2016. He originally posted short clips on the channel showing various encounters with traffic while cycling, but eventually ventured into cultural events and then POV walking videos in October 2017. He started IRL live streaming on November 8, 2019. He has featured content from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Florida, Louisiana, Rhode Island, California, Nevada, Mexico, and Taiwan. His earnings on YouTube allowed him to quit his regular job working as an accountant for NYC.

Chin's two other Youtube channels are ActionKid Extra and Blackened Shadow.

On December 12th 2021, ActionKid launched his first 24/7 livestream featuring several recorded footages of rainy and snowy streets on his sister channel, Blackened Shadow.

A new sister channel launching called ActionKid Rewind followed suit on December 17th 2021 which contains a 24/7 livestream which contains recorded footages of his previous video recording works during the pre-pandemic years from 2017-2019.

These newly launched 24/7 livestreams play the recorded videos back to back in an infinite loop. This type of livestream is very similar to the ones found on Korean YouTube channel Watchers Club which continuously broadcast past contents.

Personal life

Chin enjoys walking and has always been "obsessed with subways" since he was younger. Chin in his "ActionKid" persona shoots video at least 8 hours and his routes are influenced by "[c]urrent events, re-openings, time of day, requests from viewers, and [Chin's] availability." Chin also holds a NYC tour guide license as of 2019.[4]As of March 1, 2022, Chin is now based in Miami, Florida.
