Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre

The Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (commonly abbreviated ADNEC) is an exhibition centre in Abu Dhabi.[1] It was opened by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates on February 18, 2007. It was designed by the international architecture firm, RMJM.[2] The venue is the largest exhibition centre in the Middle East with a total space of 133,000m2 which is the sum of 73,000m2 indoor event space and its outdoor space of 55,900m2. ADNEC has a large seating capacity in its several locations in the venue, the International Convention Centre-ICC can seat up to 6,000, both Conference Halls A&B seat up to 1,500 combined, and the 20 Meeting rooms in the venue can seat between 20 and 200 a room, while the Grandstand can accommodate up to 5,400 visitors.[3]

The exhibition centre has stimulated development around it, most notable the Capital Centre and Capital Gate projects.
