Abdul Rahman bin Faisal Al Saud (1942–2014)

Abdul Rahman bin Faisal Al Saud (1942 – March 2014) was a member of House of Saud and a military officer. He later involved in business.

Not to be confused with Abdul Rahman bin Faisal bin Turki.

Early life and education

Prince Abdul Rahman was born in Taif in 1942.[1][2] He was the fifth child and third son of King Faisal and Iffat Al Thunayan.[3][4] His full siblings were Sara bint Faisal, Mohammed bin Faisal, Latifa bint Faisal, Saud bin Faisal, Bandar bin Faisal, Turki bin Faisal, Luluwah bint Faisal and Haifa bint Faisal.[3][5]

Prince Abdul Rahman graduated from the Hun School and then, from Sandhurst Military Academy[6] in 1963.[7][8][9]

Following his graduation Prince Abdul Rahman joined land forces of Saudi army.[2][10] He served as a commander of armoured brigade in the tank corps.[11] Later he retired and involved in business activities.[7]

Personal life and death

Prince Abdul Rahman married Moudi bint Khalid, daughter of King Khalid.[12] Their children are Princess Sarah, Prince Saud and Princess Al Bandari.[7][12] Al Bandari bint Abdul Rahman died in March 2019.[13] His son, Saud, is a businessman and a member of the board of trustees of Arab Thought Foundation.[14] Prince Saud has also been a member of Effat University board of founders and board of trustees since 2014.[15]

In early March 2014 Saudi royal court announced the death of Prince Abdul Rahman.[16] Funeral ceremony was held after the afternoon prayer on 5 March 2014 at the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh.[7] It
