Abdul Halim Bukhari
Abdul Halim Bukhari (Bengali: আব্দুল হালিম বুখারী) (born: January 1945) is a Bangladeshi Deobandi Islamic scholar, educator, religious writer and spiritual figure. He is the former Advisor of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, Chancellor of Al Jamia Al Islamia Patiya, Secretary General of Anjuman-e-Ittihadul Madaris Bangladesh, Chairman of the Shariah Supervisory Committee of Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited, President of Organization of Islamic Conference Bangladesh and Organization of Tahfizul Quran Bangladesh, Editor-in-chief of Monthly At-Tawhid. In 2018, he was nominated as a member of the Standing Committee of Al-Haiatul Ulya Lil-Jamiatil Qawmia Bangladesh.

Name and lineage
Bukhari was born in January 1945 in a village called Rajghata located in Lohagara in Chittagong District. His father's name is Abdul Gani Bukhari.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]
Education
He completed Masters in Hadith (Daura-e Hadith), a Kamil Degree. He graduated from Dhaka University.[9]
Career
Organization of Islamic Conference Bangladesh was established in 1986 with the aim of organizing Islamic conferences all over the country. From its formation to 2015, he was the general secretary of this organization. After the death of Abdur Rahman Bangladeshi in 2015, he became the President. [10]
He is the Chairman of the Shariah Supervisory Committee of Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited. [11] He was elected a member of the Advisory Committee at the Central Conference of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh on 15 November 2020. [12]
Tasawwuf
Bukhari was a disciple of Allama Ishaq, who was a senior successor of Mufti Azizul Haque in Sufism.[13]
Family
He married Khalesa Begum, daughter of Maulana Ershad from Satkania, Chittagong. He has four sons and three daughters. Everyone in his family is involved in Islamic activities.
