2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup

The 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup will be the ninth ICC Men's T20 World Cup tournament, scheduled to be played in June 2024 in the West Indies and the United States with twenty teams taking part.[1] It will be the first ICC World Cup tournament to be hosted by the United States.[2]

Teams and qualifications

The top-eight teams from the 2022 tournament, along with the two hosts, the West Indies and the United States, will automatically qualifiy for the league phase of the tournament. The remaining places, via the automatic qualification route, will be taken by the next two highest-ranked teams in the ICC Men's T20I Team Rankings as of 14 November 2022.[3]

If the West Indies finish in the top eight in the 2022 tournament, then the top three teams based on their ICC rankings on the cut-off date will automatically qualify. If the West Indies do not finish in the top eight, then the top-two teams in the ICC rankings will qualify for the 2024 edition. The eight remaining places will be filled via the ICC's regional qualifiers, comprising the top-two teams from Africa, Asia and Europe, along with one team each from the Americas and the East Asia Pacific groups.[4]
