2023 UCI Cycling World Championships
The 2023 UCI World Championships will be held between the 3 August 2023 to 13 August 2023 in Glasgow, Scotland.[1] The 11 day event will be the first time that multiple events will be brought together. This includes Road, MTB and Track.[2] The event has a budget of £45-£50 million, with funding coming from various local and national bodies, including the Scottish government and UK Sport.[3] Glasgow city council provided £15 million to the championships after it was predicted the economic boost would total £67 million[4]

Schedule
The 2023 World Champion ships will host 13 events, and be the largest ever.[5] It has been confirmed that the following events will feature, but a full schedule is yet to be announced. In total, 190 world champions will be crowned[6] and 2,600 athletes are set to travel to compete at the events with a further 8,000 cyclists taking part in a mass participation event.[1]

Venues
George Square will host the finishing line for all the road event the road cycling events.[4] The road routes are set to be announced in early 2023, although the time trial is set to start in Stirling.[3] Track cycling and Para-track cycling is scheduled to take place at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome.[7]Kelvingrove Park will be used as the host venue for BMX Freestyle Park Flatland, BMX Freestyle Park and trials cycling,[8] whilst BMX Racing will take place in the Glasgow BMX Centre, Knightswood.[8]
