2020–21 Liga IV Mehedinți

The 2020–21 Liga IV Mehedinți was the 53rd season of the Liga IV Mehedinți, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. Originally scheduled to start in August 2020, the season was postponed due to the impact of COVID-19 pandemic.[1]

On 7 April 2021, the Romanian Football Federation decided to allow the County Football Associations to organize a short tournament and until 8 May, they must communicate the teams qualified for the promotion play-off to Liga III.[2]

The tournament organized by AJF Mehedinți started on 16 April[3][4] and ended on 29 April 2021. Viitorul Șimian was crowned as county champion.[5]

Four clubs responded positively, that they can participate in this tournament and observe the new medical protocol, the minimum number of clubs after which the County Football Association (Asociația Județeană de Fotbal) can send its representative at the play-off matches for Liga 3.[6]

Competition format

The competition will be played in double round-robin tournament, six matches for each team, and then another round will be played, depending on the places in the standings.[7]
