- January 3 – An overloaded passenger bus crashes into a ravine in Echague, Isabela, killing at least 31 and injuring 36.[1]
- January 6 – Discovery of Bojinka plot.
- January 10–15 – World Youth Day 1995.
- January 21 – Pasig becomes a highly urbanized city in Metro Manila through ratification of Republic Act 7829 which was approved last December 8, 1994.
February
- February – Philippine Navy sights ships and structures being built, all by the Chinese, in Mischief Reef (Panganiban Reef) in the South China Sea off Palawan; causing Manila to file legal diplomatic actions against Beijing over continuous occupation of the Kalayaan Island Group, and further resistance between the Philippines and China.
- February 4 – Makati becomes a highly urbanized city through ratification of Republic Act 7854 which was approved last January 2.
- February 20 – Republic Act 7891 is signed into law, approving the division of the province of Isabela into two new provinces: Isabela del Norte and Isabela del Sur. Once the law is ratified in a future plebiscite, the province of Isabela will be dissolved.[2]
March
- March 14 – Former Calauan, Laguna Mayor Antonio Sanchez and several co-accused are sentenced to life imprisonment for the death of two UPLB students in 1993.
- March 17 – Flor Contemplacion, a household worker convicted of murder by the High Court of Singapore, is executed, causing diplomatic tensions between the Philippines and Singapore.[3]
April
- April 3–4 – Abu Sayyaf Group raids Ipil town (then part of Zamboanga del Sur), wherein 53 people are killed.[4]
- April 30 – President Ramos inaugurates the opening of the 722-million-peso Subic International Airport (formerly a United States military base). This indicates growth after the removal of military bases in the country.

- May 8:
- 1995 Philippine general election.
- Muntinlupa becomes a highly urbanized city in Metro Manila through ratification of Republic Act 7926 which was approved last March 1.
- May 16 – A fire in a ship MV Viva Antipolo VII occurs, 62 people dies and 10 others are declared missing.[5]
- May 17–18 – Kuratong Baleleng case.

- July 28 – Maria Victoria Chan, a 12-year-old elementary student was raped and killed by Larry Mahinay, Rizaldy Celez and Boyet Gonzales in Valenzuela City.

- September 9 – The massacre of Nancy, Joanna Rose, Angela and John Anthony Payumo.

- November 27 – The construction of the $1.15-billion Skyway project was initiated, the biggest infrastructure project in the country that was intended to ease the flow of traffic in Metro Manila.
