Gaston Maspero first excavates at Lisht in Egypt, including the Pyramid of Amenemhet I.
Panagiotis Stamatakis begins excavation of the group tomb of the warriors from Thespiae who fell in the Battle of Delium (424 BCE) in Boeotia.[1]
