1878 Swarthmore Quakers football team

The 1878 Swarthmore Quakers football team represented Swarthmore College during the 1878 college football season. The team lost a game to Penn.[1] The game had 45-minute halves and bore little resemblance to the modern game.[2] Swarthmore was the 15th school to play football,[3][4] and the second in the state of Pennsylvania after Penn.[5]
