2024 Sri Lankan presidential election
Presidential elections are scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka in September 2024, according to the constitution. Current President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has announced that he will run for re-election.[1] Members of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party have requested that former President Maithripala Sirisena run again.[2]
