Incumbent Republican Senator John Boozman was elected to a second term in the 2016 U.S. Senate election with 59.8% of the vote and has indicated that he will seek re-election.[1]

Primary elections in Arkansas are scheduled to be held on May 24. Runoff elections for instances where no candidate receives over 50% of the vote are scheduled for June 21.

Republican primary

Incumbent Senator John Boozman is running with the endorsement of former President Donald Trump. Despite this, his opponents have attempted to claim that he is disloyal to Trump, attacking him for refusing to object to the results of the 2020 United States Presidential election.[2] Despite this being his first time running for office, former NFL football player Jake Bequette and his supporting groups have raised over $2.6 million dollars.[3] Meanwhile, gun range owner Jan Morgan has received the endorsement of former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn and musician Ted Nugent.[4][5] Both Bequette and Morgan are further to the right of Boozman.
