In that election, the Conservatives gained 10 seats with 58.2% of the vote, Labour lost 10 seats with 26.3%, and the Green Party made no gains or losses with 13.4% of the vote.

The seats up for election this year were last elected in 2018. In that election, Labour lost 8 seats with 35.9% of the vote, the Conservatives gained 9 seats with 51.1%, and the Green Party lost 1 seat with 9.0%.
