2022 Los Angeles Chargers season

The 2022 season will be the Los Angeles Chargers' 53rd in the National Football League (NFL), their 63rd overall, their seventh in the Greater Los Angeles Area, their third playing their home games at SoFi Stadium and their second under head coach Brandon Staley. They will attempt to improve on their 9-8 record from last year, make the playoffs for the first time since 2018, and end their 12-year AFC West title drought.

Notes

  1. The Chargers traded a second-round pick (No. 48) and a 2023 sixth round pick to the Bears in exchange for defensive end Khalil Mack.[25]
  2. Los Angeles received their 214th, 254th, 255th, and 260th picks as compensatory selections for the loss of Tyrod Taylor, Denzel Perryman, Dan Feeney, and Sam Tevi respectively to the free agency market.
  3. The Chargers traded two seventh-round picks (No. 254, No. 255) to the Bears in exchange for the 2023 sixth round pick they included in the Khalil Mack trade.

On April 28, during the first round of the 2022 Draft, the NFL announced that the Chargers will play at the Kansas City Chiefs during Week 2 on September 15, in the first game of Amazon Prime Video's new Thursday Night Football package.[27]
