2020–21 Liga IV Vaslui

The 2020–21 Liga IV Vaslui was the 53rd season of the Liga IV Vaslui, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. Originally scheduled to start in August 2020, the season was postponed due to the impact of COVID-19 pandemic.[1]

On 7 April 2021, the Romanian Football Federation decided to allow the County Football Associations to organize a short tournament and until 8 May, they must communicate the teams qualified for the promotion play-off to Liga III.[2]

The tournament organized by AJF Vaslui started on 18 April[3][4] and was ended on 8 May 2021. CSM Vaslui crowned as county champion.[5]

Overview

Teams and competition format

Only five teams responded positively, that they can participate in this tournament and observe the new medical protocol: Gârceni, Rapid Brodoc, CSM Vaslui, Viitorul Vetrișoaia and Vulturești.

The competition will be played in two stages. The first stage will be played in a single round-robin tournament, following that the first four ranked will qualify for the second stage. The teams will keep in the new ranking the points obtained in the first stage and will play again a single round-robin tournament. The winner of the championship will obtain the title of county champion and will qualify for the promotion play-off to Liga III.[6]
