2020–21 Liga IV Timiș

The 2020–21 Liga IV Timiș was the 53rd season of the Liga IV Timiș, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. Originally scheduled to start in August 2020, the season was postponed due to the impact of COVID-19 pandemic.[1]

On 7 April 2021, the Romanian Football Federation decided to allow the County Football Associations to organize a short tournament and until 8 May, they must communicate the teams qualified for the promotion play-off to Liga III.[2][3]

The tournament organized by AJF Timiș started on 16 April[4] and was ended on 8 May 2021. Pobeda Stár Bišnov win the title and qualify to promotion play-off in Liga III.[5]

Overview

Teams and competition format

Nine clubs, seven from previous season and two promoted from Liga V – Timiș County, Comloșu Mare and Avântul Topolovățu Mare, responded positively, that they can participate at the county champion designation tournament and observe the new medical protocol. The competition will be played in a single round-robin tournament, eight matches for each team, and the winner will be declared the county champion and the representative of Timiș County at the promotion play-off to Liga III.[6]
