Álvaro Rico

Álvaro Rico Ladera (born 13 August 1996)[1][2] is a Spanish actor. He is known for playing the character of Polo in the Netflix's original series Elite.

In this Spanish name, the first or paternal surname is Rico and the second or maternal family name is Ladera.

Career

In 2011, he began his career as an actor in a theater adaptation of La Celestina and his television debut was in 2017 in an episode of Medical Center.[3] Also in 2017, he played Nicolás in Velvet Colección.[4]

At the end of 2017, it was announced that he would be one of the protagonists of the second original Spanish Netflix series, Elite,[5] where he shares cast with actors like Miguel Herrán, and Ester Expósito.[6] In the series he played Polo, a bisexual young man who is in a love trio with Carla (Expósito) and Christian (Herrán).[4]

In 2021, he gave an interview for Vanity Teen magazine talking about the impact of the series on society and his upcoming performances.[7]
